2014 Deutscher Science Fiction Preis

The winners of the 2014 Deutscher Science Fiction Preis for the best short story and best novel written in German language have been announced. The juried award is sponsored by the SFCD, Germany´s largest science-fiction club. Each winner will receive €1000.  The award ceremony will be held in July during SchlossCon in Schwerin, Germany.

  1. The winner´s name is Jeschke. I think his novel really derserved it. Jeschke is a kind of grand master of science-fiction and he chosed the very controversial topic of religion in his novel “Dschiheads”. (The title is symbolic: The Dschihad, the “Holy war” in fact starts in our heads.) But anyway, I am happy to see this award announced here.

  2. Thank you for correcting my misspelling of Jeschke. I remember seeing him at the 1990 Worldcon in The Hague — he was one of the guests of honor.
