This was my first WFC in 42 years without David. It so strange.
Ahhhhh lots of good winners but go Alyssa! *muppetflail*
The awards were considerably enlivened by Jane Yolen’s toastmaster speech beforehand, and by the signer providing a running translation. Who knew that there was a sign for Cthulhu (the sign for octopus, moved under the chin), or a topical sign for Trump (previously a card covering other cards, now a flapping hand-on-scalp for his hair)?
Over at Black Gate, John O’Neill has posted his thoughts on winning, and the text of his on-the-spot acceptance speech.
