2017 Bram Stoker Awards Preliminary Ballot Announced

The Horror Writers Association (HWA) has released the Preliminary Ballot for the 2017 Bram Stoker Awards®.

This is not the list of finalists, nor are they called nominees: it is the list which HWA members will choose from when they vote to determine the finalists. The final ballot will be revealed next month. The Bram Stoker Award winners will be announced in April at StokerCon 2018 in Providence, RI.

  1. Really surprised not to see The Changeling, Meddling Kids, Hekla’s Children, Universal Harvester, A God In The Shed, Final Girls or What The Hell Did I Just Read in the novel list. Not a complaint, I wasn’t even aware of some of these books so yay more to read, I just wonder if some of the books I listed are considered horror by SFF audiences and SFF by horror audiences.

    Pretty good year for horror movies!

    While I thought Sleeping Beauties never really delivered on it’s interesting premise, from the King clan Joe Hill’s Strange Weather was fantastic and the story Loaded cut deep.

    While not the final list congrats to those under consideration for making good stuff.
