“Blade Funner 2019” = two typos in a three-word title!
Steve Leavell: How about “Blade Bummer” as the title?
Steve Leavell: Thanks for catching that — time to uncork the appertainment!
I really would prefer In This Corner Of The World or A Silent Voice over Boss Baby.
The BBC counts 13 nominations for The Shape of Water, compared to 8 for the next most popular nominee; has any previous genre film not only been first but had such a wide margin? And four of those nominations are in the Big Five (by listing and IME by esteem), not just for technical work.
@Alexander Case
I’d like Lego Batman over Boss Baby.
Hell, I’d even take the (really bad) Frozen short that ran ahead of Coco over Boss Baby.
On Body and Soul, one of the Foreign Language finalists, is quite definitely fantasy.
Steven desJardins: Thanks! I’ve added it.
@Chip Hitchcock: For 2001, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring led the nominations with 13, and no other film had more than 8 noms.
Wonder Woman was the best movie I saw from last year, and it got nothing? Wot the hell.
