2019 Inky Awards Shortlists

The 2019 Inky Awards shortlists were announced July 19 – the Gold Inky for Australian titles, and the Silver Inky for international titles. The award recognizes achievement in young adult literature, with nominees and winners selected by voters under the age of 20. Some of these titles are of genre interest.

These titles were selected from a longlist by a panel of young readers aged between 12 and 20 years.

Gold Inky Award

  • A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G. Drews
  • Amelia Westlake by Erin Gough
  • Whisper by Lynette Noni
  • After the Lights Go Out by Lili Wilkinson

Silver Inky Award

  • The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
  • The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
  • The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton
  • The Astonishing Colour of After by Emily X.R. Pan
  • Scythe by Neal Shusterman
