  1. The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA, Inc.) announced the winners of the 55th Annual Nebula Awards in a livestreamed ceremony on May 31.

Um, isn’t this a day early? It’s still May 30 here.

Well, congrats to all the winners, anyway!

  2. Congratulations to all the winners!

Agreed that the ceremony was very well done. I was really glad we got to see the winners’ live reactions.

  3. It was a very well done livestream. Also a very emotional one. I did not expect to cry during Every. SINGLE. Speech. Wow.

Am now hanging out in the Zoom meeting room for the Alternate Universe Speeches. Everyone is showing off their pets and/or hats.

I’m amazed at how quick this post is up! Well done, Mike.

  4. Lela E. Buis: Thanks for catching that — appertain yourself your favorite beverage!

  5. Kate Wilhelm Solstic Award

    Solstice?

Gotta say, New Day is eerily timely this year!

  6. Judging by the comments I’ve seen on Twitter re the Nebula Weekend’s panels, presentations, and other options,, SFWA’s team may have set the gold standard for online conventioneering.

  7. Congratulations to the winners! Glad to hear the livestream went well. I can see a couple repeat winners possible come Hugo time. Nice to see some of the things which aren’t on the Hugo ballot win here.

  8. Congratulations to the winners! I really enjoyed the ceremony and loved seeing all the bookshelves! Cried at both Fran Wilde and Sarah Pinsker’s speeches. A SONG FOR A NEW DAY was wonderful, and I’m looking forward to reading the finalists who I haven’t yet read.

Thank you to the team that made this livestream so wonderful!

  9. Congrats to all the winners! I was especially happy to see Good Omens and Fran Wilde win.

    Love Julia Rios’s octopus headpiece!
