2019 Razzie Awards

The 2019 Razzie Awards for the worst films of the year were presented February 23, the day before the Oscar ceremony as is the custom. 1. The BBC observed that McCarthy is also nominated for an Oscar, for a different performance (this IIUC being why she also gets the Redeemer award) — and that she’s not the first performer to get both recognitions in a single year.

  2. Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock were both nominated for an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year, though for different performances. In both cases, I actually preferred the razzie nominated film to the Oscar nominated one. And Halle Berry won both an Oscar and a Razzie in different years and showed up for the Razzie ceremony in a beautiful gown, Oscar in tow, and then later posed with Oscar and Razzie.

  3. Way I hear it, Donald Trump narrowly pipped Will Ferrell to the post for worst actor and ((with Reilly) combo. Ferrell’s continuing Hollywood career is a bigger mystery to me than Trump’s election to the Oval Office, but I gave up watching the former’s movies years ago. Holmes & Watson certainly won’t lure me back,
