Good point that comment made, since I found walking the gargantuan spaces of the Anaheim convention center a bit daunting even when it was only occupied by that minuscule affair, a World Science Fiction Convention.

Just going by the square footage in the floor plans it appears the Anaheim Convention Center has a little more exhibit and meeting space than the San Diego Convention Center but not a great deal more.

However, Charles Ahlers, president of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau was quoted here saying Anaheim had 815,000 sq. ft. of convention space vs. San Diego's 550,000 sq. ft.

There would also be hotel function space to add into the balance.

Perhaps someone who analyzed the Anaheim facility for L.A.con IV in 2006 can add some insight.

I read an interesting comment on the Union-Tribune article that Comic-Con needed to expand in time, making the event a full week, and not expand its space, because at a certain point attendees might become unwilling to walk to all the territory covered by the con.

Hmmm... Obviously, if SDCC were to move, it would need major convention facilities. Here's a short list:

Niagara Falls (Formerly San Diego) Comics Con.
Lake Placid Comics Con
Banff Comics Con
Disney World Comics Con

But if the con moves at all, I suppose the most likely place would be Las Vegas or Reno. Then all the whoring in the dealers room would be legal.
