   You do know that “Charlton Heston” was a professional name? His birth name was — John Carter.

2. “Charlton Heston of Virginia, a clean-limbed fighting man.”

   It doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

   I’m surprised if you haven’t seen it, but I’m frequently seeing a USPS t.v. commercial in which a CGI shot from the movie of Spider-Man leaping from a building roof is modified slightly to add a delivery box held in one of his arms, plus a shot of him swinging by a large New York post office building, the Grand Central Post Office if I recognize it correctly.

3. I’ve never really understood what the idiomatic expression “clean-limbed” was supposed to mean anyway.

4. These days “clean-limbed” might mean arms with no ink on them….

5. I like it that the USPS is claiming it is going broke and works up an expensive special effects commercial to promote itself….
