“Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslany has been a critical favorite since BBC America’s “Orphan Black” debuted in 2013, scooping two Critics’ Choice Awards and a Television Critics Assn. win for her dazzling performance as four lead characters (clone “sisters” Sarah, Alison, Cosima and Helena) — as well as numerous supporting and guest roles — on the genre-bending sci-fi series. Now, in 2015, the Television Academy has finally caught up with the buzz, rewarding Maslany with her first Emmy nomination for lead actress in a drama.

Big cheer for Tatiana Maslany, well deserved. I’m a bit behind on Orphan Black but her multiple performances are amazing.
Surprised Person of Interest didn’t get any nods though, best TV I’ve seen in years,
Tatiana Maslany is phenomenal in Orphan Black. So happy to see she finally gets recognition.

If Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke are supporting actors, I’d like to know which roles they consider to be the stars. (Or is the idea that it’s an ensemble show, made up of nothing but supporting actors? You could actually make a case for that.)
Indeed, I’m shocked that top billing stars on GoT are getting supporting actor/actress nominations. Maybe there’s some screentime requirement for “lead” actor/actress awards that penalizes being in a large ensemble cast.
