  1. Wow. That was a breeze, compared to Sasquan. 5 minutes and a full reservation for the entire 6-day span, instead of 90 minutes and having to wait 3 months to confirm the first and last days of my stay.

    Kudos to you, MidAmeriCon II.

  2. It would be helpful if the hotel booking code was easily findable on the convention’s website. If anybody knows that bit of info, please pass it along!

Are you referring to the software used to do the bookings?

  4. JJ: The KC Marriott has no rooms available for the duration of MAC outside the room block. And I can’t find a way to reserve a room within the room block without some kind of group code. I don’t see that info on the MAC website anywhere.

That’s bizarre. I just made a booking at the KC Marriott and didn’t need a booking code. I have an e-mail confirmation of my reservation, so I know that it “took”.

  6. Does anyone know of a good place to find roommates? I booked 6 nights in a room at the Hotel Phillips, but I’d love to share the costs a bit.

  7. There are rooms at the Marriott available outside of the dates specified for the room block. You just have to book directly with the hotel. A bit more expense, around $169 a night. I got one for the Friday before (the 12th), no problems.

  8. Six nights in Hotel Phillips here too. If someone needs a bed for a night or two, give me a word.

  9. In the future I might be in the market for having a roommate or being a roommate, but I won’t know for a while if my finances will allow me to actually make the trip. In the meantime it was quite easy to set up a reservation for 5 nights at the Marriott.

Oh, and up on the MACII site now:
