2016 Edge Hill Short Story Prize

The shortlist for the Edge Hill Short Story Prize 2016 was announced May 4.

The UK-based award is given for excellence in a published short story collection. Besides the £10,000 main prize, there is also a £1,000 Readers’ Prize, and an additional category worth £500 acknowledging rising talents on Edge Hill University’s own MA Creative Writing course. The winners will be announced July 5.

Fans will immediately recognize that the Miéville is of genre interest. Reviews show the Readman, Greengrass, and Evers collections include some sf/fantasy tales, too.

    I wish I’d known that, or I would’ve checked them out last year. Is there a source of good tips for recent genre stories that aren’t published as such?
