  1. RESULTS:

    1. BRING US A SHRUBBERY!
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) – votes: 35
The Little Shop of Horrors (1960) – votes: 10

First, Burston Fouch ate the shrubbery. Then Gravis Mushnik ate a Caesar sallad. After that, Audrey Jr. ate Seymour. Then Audrey Jr. ate everything. And that was the end of it.

WINNER: Monty Python and the Holy Grail

    2. STAYING IN THE PAST OR THE PRESENT
    Groundhog Day (1993) – votes: 22
    Army of Darkness (1992) – votes: 15

Klaatu Barada N… Necktie… Neckturn… Nickel… The filers would have baged this one, but Ash is severly lacking in vital knowledge.

    WINNER: Groundhog Day

    3. IF HIS BRAIN’S RAN DOWN, HOW CAN HE TALK?
    Return to Oz (1985) – votes: 6
    Young Frankenstein (1974) – votes: 34

“You’ll be sorry for treating me like this!”, shouts Return to Oz. “I’m a TERRIBLE fierce movie!”

    WINNER: Young Frankenstein

    4. PRINCESS VS QUEENS
    The Princess Bride (1987) – votes: 35
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) – votes: 7

“Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got all my life to live
And I’ve got all my love to give and I’ll survive
    I will survive, hey, hey”

    Well, actually you won’t.

    WINNER: The Princess Bride

    5. RELATIONSHIPS WITH GOD
    The Blues Brothers (1980) – votes: 18
    Time Bandits (1981) – votes: 20

It is back to jail for Jake and Elwood. And to avoid more awful remakes, they will never be let out this time.

    WINNER: Time Bandits

    6. OUT OF THE DOOR, LINE ON THE LEFT, ONE BOMB EACH
    Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979) – votes: 17
Dr. Strangelove or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) – votes: 22

There is no bright side of life this time. Life of Brian said “JEHOVAH” one time too many and the Judean People’s Front crack suicide squad was not that much help after all. Meanwhile a friend shall lose his friend’s hammer and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before, about eight o’clock.

    WINNER: Dr. Strangelove

    7. DUDE VS DUKE
    The Big Lebowski (1998) – votes: 7
    Labyrinth (1986) – votes: 31

    Fucking nihilists.

    WINNER: Labyrinth

    8. IT’S SUCH A FINE LINE BETWEEN STUPID, AND UH…
    Blazing Saddles (1974) – votes: 21
This is Spinal Tap (1984) – votes: 22

Hedley Lamarr got his I rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists.

And that wasn’t very good for his health.

    WINNER: This is Spinal Tap

    9. GREAT HEAVENS! THATS A LASER!
    Better Off Dead (1985) – votes: 5
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) – votes: 33

Better Off Dead gets annoyed at Rocky Horror and pretends not to be able to speak english. This makes everything much more confusing and Better Off Dead is out of the bracket.

WINNER: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

    10. YOU CAN’T TAKE THE SKY FROM ME
    Serenity (2005) – votes: 9

Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony and a plastic rocket.

    WINNER: TIE!

  2. 10. YOU CAN’T TAKE THE SKY FROM ME
    Serenity (2005) – votes: 9
Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony and a plastic rocket.
    WINNER: TIE!

Mal: We’re not gonna die. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God  Hampus to let us die. 😉

  3. so if I may sum up, the next round will see various pairings of:

    Holy Grail
    Groundhog Day
    Young Frankenstein
    Princess Bride
    Time Bandits
    Dr. Strangelove
    Labyrinth
    Spinal Tap
    Rocky Horror
    Serenity

I absolutely want to see Rocky or Strangelove win, so please don’t pair them off until the final round mmm’kay?

(Time Bandits over Bowling? Seriously? What has gone wrong with the world?)

  4. I’ve seen 5 of the 10 left standing. I believe this is the highest ratio to date. Cally I’m placing an early order for forehead cloths as I’m sure the evil dice will catch up to me on this round.

Great commentary as usual Hampus. This has been a lot of fun.

  5. Hampus, is Serenity actually going on to the next round? Which is to say, are you accepting Godstalks write-in votes?
