Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle comes to theaters December 20.

In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji.  When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.  What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you.  They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…

  2. In two words — P.U. I mean, the originals weren’t the greatest movies ever, but I enjoyed them. They evoked a little nostalgia for board games and were consistent with the worlds the created. The re-launch — if that’s what it was — appears to be a stock-footing action smorgasbord with everything from Huey helicopters to ninja dirt bikes. What fantasy world was that again? Or, right… the world with everything in it that 17-year-old movie audiences want to do. And then there was that comic relief character who — at least at first sight — displays shall we describe as “unfortunate overtones on a disadvantaged minority stereotype.” Finally we come to Dwayne Johnson, whose career has gone steadily gone downhill from a bit part in the final Mummy movie. I actually saw hope for him as Steve Carell’s Get Smart, I was on the verge of forgiving Johnson so little lack acting talent … but then I saw Tooth Fairy. As far as I can tell, the new launch of Jumanji is a vehicle solely for purpose of displaying the merits of an ex-WWF wrestler, and hasn’t really been successful in roles similar to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s. We shall see … maybe it will be enough to wrap a 18-year-old’s around a Wii or Nintendo to make it “fresh” for a renewed audience — it worked with mixed results for a modern female audience Ghost Busters. Bud I still can’t understand how a fantasy board game from circa 1910 or whenever popped up on a PlayStation.

    At $12 000 000 a movie, I’d hope my career goes as downhill as his.

  4. Wow, Taral Wayne, so much hate for a movie trailer. You do know that you get to choose which movies you actually see, right? ?
