Change of Time for Filer Meetup

By Hampus Eckerman: Because of the room situation at Worldcon 75, it is possible that the planned time of a filer premeet before the Hugos would effectively keep all filers from getting seating for the Hugo ceremony.

So the premeet is moved to 18:30, still at Hampus’ Halloween exhibit. We will not wait for longer time than at most 15 minutes, and most likely less, so be there on time. (This is a warning Hampus especially issues to himself as he was the late to the last meeting because of Pokemon hunting.)

So new time at 18:30. See you there!

  1. I’ll be asleep on another continent but…ASTRAL PROJECTION! Perfect time to escape the bounds of my physical body. I’ll be there as a soft, uncanny breeze and a strange feeling of an unearthly presence.

  2. I won’t be able to make the pre-meet because I’m on a panel at 18:00. I have no idea what the line-standing or seat-saving logistics are going to be, so we’ll see if I’m able to join the seating group.

  3. according to a note on the door to Hall 1, queuing for the Hugo awards starts at 1800.

  4. Yes the line is quite impressive, so I jumped onto it. I’m at the Pizza & Grill.

Trade Hall just closed. Exhibit Hall might be inaccessible, since all doors are now closed.

  5. @Hampus Eckerman: Cool! Want to meet at your exhibit? At . . . Hmm. 6:30? Earlier? Later? (I don’t want to overdo it, but based on last night, hmm.)

    Anyone else?

  6. I’ll be busy volunteering, not at the masquerade alas, but maybe they’ll get the livestream working!

  7. I think I’ll skip live-commenting the masquerade. It would lose sone of its luster.

  8. I couldn’t get into @Heather Rose Jones’s panel at 3. Psniff! A missed Filer meet-up (for me) (though fortunately I met her briefly earlier in the con).

I am surprised closing ceremonies is in the same too-small room as opening ceremonies was. Idiots. Yes possibly fewer people will go, but A LOT of folks weren’t able to go to opening ceremonies, so . . . Le Sigh. Fingers crossed.
