Fantasycon Hotel Filling Up

Fantasycon 2011 will be held September 30-October 2 at the Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton, UK. The committee advises that fans book by July 1 to avoid disappointment, as the rooms are going fast.

The con’s Guests of Honor are World Fantasy Award-winning author and critic Gwyneth Jones, Swedish horror writer John Ajvide Lindqvist, Peter Atkins, author of Morning Star and Big Thunder and Joe Abercrombie, screenwriter of Hellraiser II-IV  and Wishmaster and several best-selling fantasy novels.

Also coming is distinguished Special Guest Brian Aldiss, author of more than eighty novels, including Frankenstein Unbound and the “Helliconia” Trilogy

FANTASYCON 2011 – BOOK HOTEL ROOMS BEFORE JULY 1st TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT

With attendance now well past the 300 mark; accommodation in the Royal Albion Hotel is filling up fast. The hotel will only guarantee rooms up until 1st July, so if you haven’t already organised your accommodation, book yours now to avoid disappointment. Please note that if you book a room after this date, the convention rate will not be available – and could be as much as £140 per night.

FantasyCon 2011 has negotiated a room rate of £79 per night for a single or double room, over the period of the Convention (30th September – 2nd October 2011). A limited number of family rooms are also available, at a cost of £119 per night. The hotel have kindly agreed to honour the convention rate for anyone wishing to stay on Sunday 2nd October 2011. PLEASE NOTE THE HOTEL IS FULLY BOOKED ON THURSDAY 29th SEPTEMBER 2011. All room rates include a full buffet-style breakfast.

Guests of Honour: World Fantasy Award-winning author and critic GWYNETH JONES, also known as Ann Halam (whose novels include LIFE, SPIRIT); Swedish horror writer JOHN AJVIDE LINDQVIST, author of the best-selling LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, which was recently remade in the U.S. as LET ME IN; PETER ATKINS, novelist (MORNING STAR; BIG THUNDER) and screenwriter (HELLRAISER II-IV, WISHMASTER) and JOE ABERCROMBIE, best-selling author of the fantasy novels THE BLADE ITSELF, BEFORE THEY ARE HANGED, LAST ARGUMENT OF KINGS, BEST SERVED COLD and THE HEROES.
