  1. Rewatching Things to Come, recently, made me realise three important cosmic truths:

    1. Shoulder pads are a questionable fashion statement.
    2. Elderly science fiction writers are likely to neither solve the world’s problems nor produce a usable film script.
    3. In the future, we’ll all live in a Hyatt Regency.

  2. My wife and I are already watching both Cannonball Run movies tonight. With these, there goes the rest of my weekend.

    The Day Of The Triffids scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid. It’s nowhere near as good as the original novel by John Wyndham – which is fantastic and which everyone should read – but it’s still a solid B-movie.
