DC Comics Moving to Burbank

DC Comics will move to Burbank in 2015 , already home to its digital and administrative divisions.

DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson’s e-mail softened the blow to the staff by promising, “Everyone on the New York staff will be offered an opportunity to join their Burbank colleagues and those details will be shared with you individually, comprehensively and thoughtfully next week.”

  1. She could have softened the blow more by announcing it in the middle of really crappy New York winter weather. Burbank sounds very alluring in that context.

But then there’s the whole culture clash issue: namely that many people in New York think it has culture and the rest of the world doesn’t.

  2. New York has at least two analogs in the DC universe, right? Metropolis and Gotham City? Are there any DC cities that are recognized as being Los Angeles, or its vicinity? Will this move cause some to appear?

  3. Is Burbank not the home of the Bat-Mite universe?

(I may be myx-ytz-ptlyk-ing my metaphors.)

    A new film?

    “Bat-Hounds of the Bastard-ville.”

  4. Are there any DC cities that are recognized as being Los Angeles, or its vicinity? Will this move cause some to appear?

DC Entertainment is part of WB, right? I’d love to see the Batman/Animaniacs crossover.
