I assumed Harry named his son after Snape because Alan Rickman is just so cool.
If Harry really appreciated how cool Alan Rickman is, he could have also worked in a reference to Grabthar’s Hammer.
It’s always amusing to watch people argue with a creator about the motivations of their characters.
Well, it does tell the creator whether any of what was in their head made it onto the page. This is far from a given.
