HOW TO VOTE:

All voting is by e-mail only.  Simply copy this ballot (cut-and-paste works fine) and send an e-mail with your picks to me, David Colton, at taraco@aol.com by Sunday night at midnight, April 10, 2016.

You can send a quick e-mail, or you can cut-and-paste the ballot and highlight your choices, or place an X next to your choices; or you can type your choices in an e-mail. And no, you do not have to vote in every category.

One vote per person, please. Every e-mail must include your name to be counted.  All votes are kept strictly confidential. No e-mail addresses or personal information will ever be shared with anyone.

Feel free to spread the word about the Rondo voting — go social on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram; place Rondo banners on websites, urge friends and fans to vote. But please do not mass-produce or duplicate ballots; suspicious ballots will be rejected at the sole discretion of Rondo organizers. Let’s keep this a fun vote!

  1. I’ve already cast my vote for Jim as Best Columnist, as well as for Writer of the Year AND for Monster Kid of the Year. Good Luck to Jim Burns at the Rondo Awards.

  2. Ah, yai, yaye…

That’s just a little too much!

    😉

(But Steve is a great friend. 😉 )

    Best, Jim

  3. Now, there was a joke to the photo Mike included here:

Because that’s me looking for what happened to the column nomination!

    😉

The FILE 770 pieces got many nominations:

    http://monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com/topic/61935/For-Best-Blog-or-Online-Column-James-H-Burns-at-File-770#.VtEaA-azkWo

But somehow got left off the ballot!

(Actually, there was something a little funny here: One of the administrators, someone heard through the grapevine didn;t realise that FILE 770 “was genre.”

Which was particlarly odd, since the initial thread included some article links!

    😉

I don’t mean to take this so seriosuly.

In fact, in years past, I didn’t campaign for this stuff, even when nominated… Because, well, it struck me as odd to ask people to vote.

But apparently. that’s what’s done with the Rondos.

    For better or worse!

And I’m proud of the stuff I wrote here, thanks to the time Mike has given me.

So, if you’d like to vote for the File 770 columns, and the best non-fiction writer for this particular annum (in the related fields), that would be fantastic!

Or, PLEASE, vote for whomever you think is deserving!

You certainly don’t have to vote in every category.

In any given year, there are only about five-to-ten categories that I feel qualified to vote on….

I don’t thinkI deserve that “Monster Kid of the Year” award, which goes to someone who’s helped bring more attention to the field…

Perhaps it’s merely my ego speaking, but it would be nice for the columns to get some more attention.

    So, forgive my bluster!

And thanks, as always, for your indulgence.

    And vote.

    Often.

    😉

    Best, Jim
