  1. She’s getting tetanus! Because she wasn’t wearing any shoes!

(I remember all too vividly the anti-hippy safety videos from my childhood that showed the dire consequences of walking around the streets barefoot.)

  2. Points to Mike Kerpan!

One of the minor regrets I had with regard to things missed when we took our sweepstakes trip to London in 2002 was that I didn’t get to walk there, the most famous crosswalk on Earth.

  3. I hate to be unhumorously pedantic (can’t help it) but aren’t the four folks crossing Abbey Road supposed to be, like, part of the same group? or team? or at least not explicitly opposed?

Apologies for crashing the vibe. Lately I’ve been feeling cranky about the “if you wink at it, it doesn’t matter whether it’s coherent as long as you reference multiple geek/nerd shibboleths!” thing.

  4. I’m still bummed that Jenna Coleman is barefoot, has her right foot in front and has an extended finger (was McCartney’s a cigarette?) and Peter Capaldi properly has his hands in his pockets but he has his right foot in front instead of the left, like John Lennon. I mean, seriously. If they were going to sweat the details, why not get the foot correct? (I don’t care about the Daleks being the other team. Maybe they know something about George and Ringo we don’t.)

  5. the dire consequences of walking around the streets barefoot
In the area where I grew up the dire consequences tended to be overheated feet. (And in our yard, as we had some ‘prickly Moses’, little needles sticking between toes.)
Summer in inland California is a bit on the warm side.

  6. They are all part of the same team/group. They’re part of the cast of a television show that a lot of people are enthusiastic about.
And by the time Abbey Road was released, the four folks crossing the road were probably somewhat “explicitly opposed”, and were no long part of the same group (Harrison had temporarily left during the recording of Let It Be, and Lennon left the group several days before Abbey Road was released).

Hmmm, so in this scenario The Tardis is Yoko Ono…

  8. The whole Abbey Road thing was a fake clue to the ending to this night’s episode of Doctor Who. Damn, Steven Moffat is sly!
