Extensive list; you have me convinced now. Can anyone help write some stories now?
You know, I’ve tried to join SFWA as an “associated member” a couple of times now.
Problem one: In the SFWA website there are some contradictory statements on requirements (e.g., do I or do I not have to be recommended by SFWA members?).
Problem two: Each time I’ve e-mailed the SFWA contact address or even directly tweeted or e-mailed a SFWA official to try and get this clarified I get “Oh, we’ll look into that and get back to you…” followed by…nothing.
If you want people to join SFWA, maybe start by actually clarifying the requirements at all levels across your website and actually responding to queries from people who are willing to join (spend money to do so)?
