  1. As a kid I watched reruns of the show shown from battered 16 millimeter syndication prints on WGN in Chicago. Many episodes I experienced as short stories published in Bantam paperbacks — Rod Serling was always listed as the author for the adaptations, but I have my doubts today. None of that mattered. It was the Twilight Zone and I watched those reruns and read the short stories over and over again. I liked the early years of “Night Gallery”, too, even though Rod Serling became disenchanted with it. God bless you, Rod Serling, and the TV executives that let you produce a series more or less your own way.
