Top 10 Posts for March 2020

Go on, admit it, with our intense focus on the epidemic these past two weeks, don’t the top two stories in March feel like they happened before Christmas? Archive of Our Own blocked in China – either because of a kerfuffle over a celebrity, or because AO3’s erotic fanfic triggered enforcement of the latest rules? Then, a big blast of hits on the Rondo Awards story because TV host Svengoolie told viewers to go vote for him and after they broke the Rondo site, a thousand of them wandered over here? (Are you impressed with the magnitude of difference between a TV show’s audience and mine? Their margin of error was my second highest story!)

However, the coronavirus outbreak and the falling dominos of cancelled and postponed events culminating in radical rethinking of the 2020 Worldcon is also evident in both lists of File 770’s 10 most-read stories last month.

  1. March has been such a ridiculously long month. Like at least 200 days or so. I don’t want to know how many years April will last.

  2. The fact that China blocks fannish content means that we should not have Worldcon in China until this policy is changed.
