  1. I think you’re missing a couple of bullets:
    – “The Thirteenth Child” by Mari Ness, as read by Erika Ensign
    – Ursula Vernon Interviewed by Deborah Stanish

    – “Aboard the Transport Tesoro” by Lisa M. Bradley, as read by Amal El-Mohtar
    – Karin Tidbeck Interviewed by Deborah Stanish

I’ll just go appurtain my own beer now. 😉

  2. Am I correct in thinking that the stories published on the 3rd of November will be Hugo eligible?

  3. Stevie: Am I correct in thinking that the stories published on the 3rd of November will be Hugo eligible?

Yes, all the stories in this issue will be eligible for next year’s Hugos.

  4. They’re all Hugo-eligible: available to subscribers next week and to everyone in Dec.

I must read this, as I suspect longlist stuff will be there. The Crimson Marsupial is always worth a read, and the non-fiction sounds quite interesting.

  5. *waves wildly to everyone*

I just did the interview today, in which I describe inspiration as a nasty biological process sort of like vomiting. Come for the story, stay for the glory of the writing life!

  6. Wow, I really like Julie Dillon’s work. Talk about a well-deserved Hugo. And that TOC… very enticing.

  7. JJ: Yes, and as long as you’re appurtaining your own beer, make it a REALLY GOOD LABEL! 😉

  8. I have the Bear novelette early as a kickstarter reward. I should probably read it before the issue comes out as otherwise it’s a bit pointless…

  9. Lynne Thomas is so awesome, and I’m so glad to see Uncanny doing so well. She’s been at Convergence several times, and she’s always a delight as a panelist–her quote, “Don’t harsh the squee”, has almost become an unofficial motto for the con.

Nothing really to say beyond that–she’s just awesome!

  10. The Thomases and the rest of the Uncanny Magazine staff are mighty and awesome

  11. Thank you; I was worried about the widespread distribution question which had come up re Gentleman Jule and the Red Queen. The combined effects of uncontrolled time travel and the approach of the Christmas season reduces my brain to mush, though to be honest the Christmas season does that anyway. I’m immensely happy to celebrate it but trying to find appropriate presents for people is always uphill work.

  12. I have the full issue now (Kickstarter reward hurrah!) and can confirm that the Bear and Wombat stories are worth the price of admission on their own.
