By Bill Higgins: I’ve learned that an old BBC documentary on Seacon, the 1979 Worldcon in Brighton, is available on Youtube. Dave Nee told Tom Whitmore about it, and Tom posted a link to Making Light, here.
The program itself, an episode of Time Out of Mind, is here.
Let the games begin! On Making Light, Jacque Marshall, P. J. Evans, and Tom Whitmore have been identifying the many pros and fans who appear in the 25-minute video. Any number can play.
Editor’s note: Wow — Gregory Benford is like the second pro shown in the video — at about 2:00.

Seacon 79 was my first trans Atlantic flight, ah, Sir Freddie Laker’s SkyTrain. Good times!
This was a very well done documentary and Dave Nee deserves credit for finding it. I told Making Light that Terry Hughes is in the fan lounge scene and I’m 85 percent sure that Kent Bloom is in the audience in the auction.
There is a 3-page collection of pictures captured from the video at http://jacquemarshall.net/words/Seacon79_faces-140821.pdf, and extensive discussion of the people at http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/015948.html#015948; anybody who wants to play who’s-that should check this out, and post comments in that thread. (I’m not in it, but an obscure friend and my biggest headache at the masquerade both get ample time.)
