2017 World Fantasy Award Nominees

The World Fantasy Award Administration has announced the World Fantasy Award nominations for 2017.

To be eligible, all nominated material must have been published in 2016 or have a 2016 cover date. Nominations came from two sources. Members of the current convention as well as the previous two were able to vote two nominations onto the final ballot. The remaining nominations came from the panel of judges. For this year’s awards. the judges were Elizabeth Engstrom, Daryl Gregory, Nalo Hopkinson, Juliet Marillier and Betsy Mitchell.

The awards will be presented at the World Fantasy Convention Banquet, in San Antonio, Texas.

LIFE ACHIEVEMENT

    Yes some interesting books. I haven’t read Borderline but I remember some discussion about it here (I think).

    Roadsouls? I can’t recall hearing anything about that – so it is great to hear about something that others are excited about.

    I haven’t read that particular book of North’s or Lovecraft Country but they are on my radar.

    So that’s a nice mix of the familiar and unfamiliar in the novels.

  3. I’m glad to see Borderline and The Sudden Appearance of Hope getting some recognition.

    I really enjoyed The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, Touch, and Hope, but I thought that North’s latest, The End of the Day, was a total misfire and I DNFed it after reading 25%.
