ASIFA-Hollywood has announced the nominations for its 49th Annie Awards. The Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon leads the feature competition with 10 nominations. The studio’s Encanto earned 9 nominations. Pixar’s Luca and Sony Pictures Animation/Netflix’s The Mitchells vs. The Machines received 8 apiece. All four movies, along with Illumination’s Sing 2 are finalists for best animated feature.
The Annie Awards will be presented on February 26. The winners of the following special awards have already been announced.
The Winsor McCay Award for career contributions to the art of animation will go to —

- Computer animation pioneer Lillian Schwartz
- Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki
The June Foray Award for significant and benevolent or charitable impact on the art and industry of animation will be presented to —

The Ub Iwerks Award for technical advancement that has made a significant impact on the art and industry of animation will be presented to —

- Glen Vilppu, an artist and author known for teaching and training animation professionals
The Certificate of Merit for service to the industry —
