2022 Colorado Book Awards Finalists

The finalists for the 2022 Colorado Book Awards have been announced. Awards are presented in 15 categories by Colorado Humanities to celebrate the accomplishments of Colorado’s outstanding authors, editors, illustrators, and photographers.

The winners will be announced on June 25, 2022.

SCIENCE FICTION/FANTASY

  • Khyven the Unkillable by Todd Fahnestock (New Mythology Press)
  • The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Eric Maikranz (Blackstone Publishing)
  • Magic and Misrule by KM Merritt (Blue Fyre Press)

ANTHOLOGY

  • Shadow Atlas: Dark Landscapes of the Americas, edited by Carina Bissett, Hillary Dodge, and Joshua Viola and illustrated by Aaron Lovett (Hex Publishers)

JUVENILE LITERATURE

  • Noah McNichol and the Backstage Ghost by Martha Freeman (Simon & Schuster)

THRILLER

  • My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones (Simon & Schuster)

  1. Stephen Graham Jones’ horror novel MY HEART IS A CHAINSAW is a finalist –although it’s stuck in the “thriller” category as they have no “horror” category.
