Book Launches at Anticipation

There will be 12 book launches, 9 of them public, at the 2009 Worldcon in Montreal. A list of times and publishers appears in the full press release following the jump.

We are pleased to announce twelve book launches (nine public) will be occurring at the convention, many of them for Canadian authors.

ChiZine will be launching Daniel Rabuzzi’s ‘”The Choir Boats”; “Objects of Worship'” by Claude Lalumière (with a foreword by James Morrow); David Nickle’s “Monstrous Affections” (with a foreword by Michael Rowe); “The World More Full of Weeping'”, by Robert J. Wiersema; and “The Tel Aviv Dossier” by Lavie Tidhar & Nir Yaniv. Guests will include Nir Yaniv, Claude Lalumière, David Nickle, Robert J. Weirsema, Daniel Rabuzzi, Robert Boyczuk, Deborah A. Mills, Brett Alexander Savory, Sandra Kasturi, and Matthew Moore.

Nanopress will be launching “Blood Out of a Stone”, a new collection by Guest of Honour Élisabeth Vonarburg with an introduction by Ursula K. LeGuin.

Guests for the North American launch of HarperCollins’ imprint Angry Robot will include Neil Gaiman.

Bundoran Press will be releasing “Steel Whispers” by Hayden Trenholm and “Fall From Earth”, by Matthew Johnson. EDGE Publishing will be promoting “Tesseracts Thirteen”, a collection of short fiction by Canadian writers. Guests will include Jean-Louis Trudel , Nancy Kilpatrick, Alison Baird, Suzanne Church, Kevin Kvas, Jill Snider Lum, Matthew Moore, David Nickle, and Andrea Schlecht.

The Robert J. Sawyer Books imprint of Red Deer Press will be launching the collection “Distant Early Warnings”. Expected guests include Paddy Forde, Julie E. Czerneda, Robert Charles Wilson, Karl Schroeder, and Robert J. Sawyer.

Hadley Rille books is releasing Kim Vandervort’s “The Song and the Sorceress”. Soundz Intriguing will launch “Gideon Redoak”, by Anne Fraser.

By Light Unseen Media will release “Tyal, the Daughter of Flames”, by Odeillia Firebird.

SF Canada, a national, bilingual organization of SF, Fantasy and Horror writers, will also be giving a party on Friday starting at 9pm in Delta suite 2815.

The 67th World Science Fiction Convention, known as Anticipation, will take place in Montréal, Québec, Canada from Thursday, August 6th through Monday, August 10th, 2009.
