It’s nice that they run poetry. Is Apex a “semi-prozine?”
Jim – they are. They were nominated for a Hugo for Best Semiprozine in 2012-2014.
They also published the Nebula-winning “If You Were A Dinosaur My Love,” so you know they’ve got good taste!
[Also the Nebula-winning “Jackalope Wives,” but for some unknown reason that hasn’t gotten quite as much ink. Or pixels. Or whatever.]
Kurt Busiek: It’s nothing less than my duty to champion the publisher of “If You Were A Dinosaur My Love”!
As well you should, Mike.
As well you should.
It’s probably just as well. While I would love to write something that made people that emotional, Swirsky’s a much tougher woman than I to put up with that much grief.
And “Jackalope Wives” is terrific on its own merits, and well deserving of the award.
There’s a story called “If You Were a Dinosaur, My Love?” Huh. I’m surprised I never heard anything about it. People love dinosaurs!
I second that motion.
I thought it was ‘If You Were a Water, My Love’? You are thinking of ‘The Dinosaur that Falls from On You From Nowhere’ – which presumably is velociraptor fan fiction.
Holy fucking shit, RedWombat! That story! I just read it. It is wow.
@Jim Henley
Then I suggest you move swiftly to reading “Pocosin”.
@Camestros
DropRaptors? Sounds Australian.
