Bradbury on Antiques Roadshow

PBS’ Antiques Roadshow appraised a set of Ray Bradbury novels autographed to one of his high school English teachers on the April 27 broadcast.

Among the books was the presentation copy to the dedicatee of Something Wicked This Way Comes, Jennet Johnson, who taught Bradbury at Los Angeles High School.

The appraiser said the books and a letter, as a collection, were estimated to be worth $6,000-$8,000.

The appraiser noted that the owner lacked an inscribed first edition copy of Fahrenheit 451, which would have a 5-figure value all by itself.

The episode is available online here. At the 22-minute mark there is a discussion of several stfnal pinball games like Fireball and Addams Family (Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston). The Bradbury segment begins around the 24-minute mark.
