Chicago, Illinois, USA – Chicon 7, the 70th World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon), today opened hotel bookings to all members.

Chicon 7 is rare and perhaps unique among modern Worldcons in that the entire event will take place under one roof at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, adding an extra level of convenience for attending members. Some 1,800 rooms have been reserved for the convention as well as all 228,000 square feet of function space — sufficient to accommodate the approximately 5,000 science fiction fans expected to arrive from around the world to take part in the event next August.

The sleeping rooms at the Hyatt Regency have recently been renovated and upgraded, including 37” plasma TVs. Room rates for Chicon 7 are $145 plus tax (will be 16.4%) for single through quad occupancy. These rates are good for the official convention dates and, subject to hotel availability, 3 days before and after. Convention member hotel guests will also benefit from a 50% discount on the prevailing parking rates.

Suite bookings for the Hyatt Regency must be made via the Chicon 7 suites team rather than directly with the hotel. Members who are interested in booking a suite should contact the suites team at <[email protected]>. More information on suite types and prices can be found on the Chicon 7 website at <www.chicon.org/parties.php>.

Full information on the Hyatt Regency, along with detailed booking instructions, can be found on the Chicon 7 website at <www.chicon.org/ hotel.php>. Bookings can be made online or by telephone.
