While on Conan O’Brien’s show to promote his forthcoming book An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth, Chris Hadfield explained there’s not enough water available for laundry, so the International Space Station’s residents fling laundry into space to burn up in re-entry.

And as long as he was on the subject, Hadfield also gave an assessment of Sandra Bullock’s space underwear in the movie Gravity.
