Filers Meetup at Glasgow 2024

Cora Buhlert convened a meetup of File 770 readers at the Worldcon in Scotland today and took these photos.

From left to right, Klaus Schmitz, Susan, Kathryn Sullivan, Ann-Marie Rudolph, Perrianne Lurie, Doctor Science, Dave Wallace, con photographer Simon Bubb, and Paul Weimer.

The File 770 meetup then decamped to a table in the food truck area. From left to right, Christian Brunschen, Dave Wallace, Klaus Schmitz, Perrianne Lurie and Doctor Science.

  1. I am sorry I missed the meet-up but I was pursuing journalistic endeavors for most of yesterday. But, I HOPE to be at the next meet-up in Seattle next year!

    Best Wishes,
    Chris B.

  2. MODERATOR’S NOTE: I don’t accept comments from “Anonymous” or with fake email registrations.

  3. Sorry that Mark Roth and I missed the meet-up. Mark spent far too much time at the business meeting and I was brain dead even though I rented a scooter for during the con. We ran into Dr Science while waiting to get on a train to Edinburgh earlier today.

  4. Paul is also a con photographer here. (I’m a regular reader of F770, although I think I’ve only posted once with some Dublin 2017 photos).

  5. I managed to find the meetup (having run from the end of the Business Meeting to attend anothehr meetup, briefly, before continuing onwards). I did meet Christian Brunschen heading towards the Crowne Plaza on my way, but was looking for the meeting in the library area, not knowing they’d already decamped for the table,

Although, thanks to enthusiastic shouting from Cora, I managed to find the few, the brave, Filers who were still meeting. I also haded out a few of my “I have read Trigger Snowflake” ribbons and handed a small stack to Cora, to widen the dispersion of said ribbons.

  6. I’m sorry I didn’t make it to the Filer meetup! ;-( I was kinda worn out by the Biz Meeting.
