Gaiman Reads Suess For Charity

Neil Gaiman read Dr Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham on camera to celebrate the Worldbuilders 2014 fundraiser hitting a $500,000 stretch goal.

The Worldbuilders charity, organized by author Patrick Rothfuss and founded on the premise of “geeks doing good,” raises money for Heifer International

Heifer International…helps people raise themselves up out of poverty and starvation. Heifer promotes education, sustainable agriculture, and local industry all over the world.

They don’t just keep kids from starving, they make it so families can take care of themselves. They give goats, sheep, and chickens to families so their children have milk to drink, warm clothes to wear, and eggs to eat.

The 2014 fundraiser ended February 4 and brought in $676,151 according to a graphic on Rothfuss’ blog, far exceeding the $400,000 raised last year.
