I think most everyone in publishing has a Harlan story. I posted mine today: http://www.starwarpconcepts.com/happy-birthday-harlan-ellison
Good story!
fab! Long may he reign!
I have others (you can’t interact with the man and *not* come out of it with a story), but I’ll probably save them for his next birthday. 😀
What bothers me is that I can remember Andy Porter writing in Algol, asking if science fiction could survive Harlan turning forty.
Phil Nichols posted Phil Foglio’s cartoon “What is an Ellison?”, a clever takeoff on that poem about the seven blind men and the elephant. Foglio drew it to illustrate one of David Gerrold’s Starlog columns in the 1980s.
This caused me to recall the Tim Kirk cartoon from the days of SCIENCE FICTION REVIEW: “Harlan Elephant defends the faith.”
But I thought Harlan said he was dying!
