Yes, Giant Credential Credenza Is (Currently) Digital-Only

By Daniel Dern: In response to (my) Item (15), Cat Furniture in Pixel Scroll 4/23/25 Pixeler on the Roof, Cat Eldridge commented:

15) I’m reasonably sure that the website where the cat sofa image is from are digital in nature only as the products here belong in fantasy novels. Ones probably not yet written. And I want to know what drugs the designers were on. Really I do.

I can’t answer Cat’s middle (implied) question, but as to the first: A quick web search shows this comes from Dreaming Designscapes, whose web site’s FAQ cheerfully states:

Q: Are these products tangible, and where can they be purchased?

A: As you navigate through our platform, you’ll encounter a captivating array of furniture, miniature homes, and a diverse range of products. It’s crucial to note that these meticulously crafted designs are currently existing solely in the realm of digital representations. They serve as expressions of creativity and innovation, captivating the imagination rather than being tangible items available for purchase.

And, that said, also:

The potential inherent in these designs is substantial, and we are eager to explore opportunities that could transform them from virtual concepts into tangible realities. In pursuit of this goal, we enthusiastically welcome collaborations.

Here’s some more of their, cough, cativating designs, from coffee machines and shower heads, to beds and sofas, to mobility devices and even homes/buildings:

  1. They’re not just “digital only”, they’re AI slop.

Giant cat sofa: Look at the legs on the woman on the couch
Giant cat lounger: I’m pretty sure her feet are swapped
Giant Dog Sofa: she has skin where her eyes should be
Wild Jungle Coffee Machines: what even is that blurred fake text on the knobs?
Snake Coffee Maker: those coils are geometrically improbable
Harry Potter Sorting Hat Shower Head: okay, the least improbable one I’ve seen
Giant Dog Bed For Humans: What IS that dog art on the wall?
Guitar Fireplace: the light bulbs are a fever dream
Tortoise House in the Gobi Desert: the face on that … person walking by is the stuff of nightmares
T-Rex Dinosaur Mobility Scooter: That kid’s “eyes”
Teapot-Shaped Scooters: where’s the platform on that woman’s scooter? All it has is a front wheel
Tree House: the tree on the right doesn’t even go all the way to the ground.

I don’t think we should send traffic to places that do this (yes, I know I did so, but I think my reasoning for it is sound)

  2. I assume this was the same site that had a big dragon sofa a few months ago?

  3. Some of their stuff – I went down five pages – might even be practical.

  4. But but but… there are “real” user reviews and everything!

I absolutely adore the cat sofas. Great color choices; make mine black so Casper can shed on it to his heart’s content. Imagine trying to cram one into your double-wide, though!

Agree with Chris R about the woman’s legs; IRL that’s a knee reconstruction waiting to happen and well overdue.

PS – The preview pane says that I am composing this reply in the year 9245. This tickles me no end.

  5. I wonder what would happen if the most unlikely ones were printed as postcards and sent to legislators across the US.

    (It’s 6036! Where’s the shoggoth?)

  6. Answering myself: sent as examples of what AI sells, as opposed to what you actually get.
(I do like the T rex scooters, though.)

  7. P J Evans says I wonder what would happen if the most unlikely ones were printed as postcards and sent to legislators across the US.

Think of the market at furry cons…
