Award-Winning VFX House to Provide Effects for Feature & Series
Andrew Dillon, executive producer of That’s-A-Wrap Productions, today announced that the award-winning visual effects house Atmosphere Visual Effects will be providing the special visual effects for That’s-A-Wrap’s upcoming science fiction action-adventure film and television series Resistance.
Founded in 2003 by a group of top visual effects artists, Atmosphere is unusual in that they are an artist-run company, with all the flair and creativity that implies, but with the infrastructure, resources, and experience to tackle ambitious, difficult projects.
Atmosphere Visual Effects has created award-winning visual effects for motion pictures, MoWs and mini-series, and television series, including Battlestar Galactica,
A team headed up by Atmosphere’s Andrew Karr is already at work on the many complex visual effects shots required to bring Resistance to life, ranging from a space station in Earth orbit, tiny nanobot “insects”, energy weapons, special vehicles of all types, and equipment used by our heroes in their battle against the covert alien invaders.
Says Karr, “We are committed to helping our clients realize their vision through closely collaborative relationships. To date, we’ve been privileged to work on some great projects with some amazing people. And Resistance looks like another great one. The one factor that never changes is that when we take on a job, we throw ourselves into it heart and soul.”
Resistance is the story of covert attempt by aliens from outer space to take over the Earth and a guerilla-style battle to stop them when most of the world won’t believe the threat exists. What makes the story even more interesting is its focus on a band of super-smart teenagers at the center of this conflict: not only do they have to save the world but they have to deal with school, hormones and dating.
Production on the Resistance feature is expected to start later this year.
