Steve Johnson has been a File 770 reader since the late Seventies (albeit with a long, pre-Internet break) who used to read issues printed with a Gestetner mimeo. But I never had this bucket — or a cat:
Della Street is a two year old Calico cat, intensely curious about novel objects, so long as they are novel. I doubt if she will ever again pay attention to the Gestetner Ice Bucket or anything printed on twiltone paper. (The fanzine is Starling 13, January 1969.)
Photos of your felines (or whatever you’ve got!) resting on genre works are welcome. Send to mikeglyer (at) cs (dot) com

That is a very fine cat, with a fine interest in fannish objects.
This is unrelated. I found your post about Randy Byers’ death in 2017. I went to high school and worked with him in Salem, OR, and have tried to find him on and off through the years. I’m sorry I didn’t look hard enough in the past and lost my chance to reconnect. Email me if you want.
I do like cats 🙂
Della Street is entirely right in being curious. Especially with all interesting cords to explore.
What a beauty!
I have one of those Gestetner ice buckets but lack that specific issue of STARLING.
I also cohabit with three cats but photographing them is tricky.
Comment on a video of a cat unhappy with visiting the vet:
That cat has seen things you wouldn’t believe.
Crows sledding on hubcaps,
Garden hoses glittering near the back gate.
All those moments will wash away like tears in rain,
time to kill a vet
