You’re invited — to the Biggest Little Party at the Worldcon!

We want to show the world what Reno has to offer in 2011, so the Biggest Little City in the World is partying for four nights at Denvention, the 66th Worldcon, and we’re hoping you’ll launch yourself in our direction.

Each night, from August 6-9, we’ll offer a different nibble of the feast that is Reno, Nevada:

*Silver Mine Rush*

On Wednesday, join us as we celebrate Reno‘s heritage (as a silver mining town that helped build the American West) by prospecting for the perfect Worldcon venue. Grab a bite and a cool drink, sit and chat…but please leave your burro outside.

*Around the World — and to the Stars!*

Star gazing — or landing your interstellar transport — are easier and more pleasant in the high desert than just about anywhere else on the planet. And wow! Do we have stars for you on Thursday! We’ll tell you about our clear, clean skies and what you can expect to see in the heavens in 2011. (You can also meet representatives from the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Bureau and our hotels. They’re delighted to be at their first Worldcon — and eager to have us come to Reno!)

*Peppermill Spice Night*

We’d like to give you a taste of the spice that is Reno, so we’re partying in honor of the beautiful Peppermill Reno Hotel Casino on Friday. There’ll be spicy foods, spicy dress, and spicy attitude – and please bring your strangest and coolest pepper mills to show off. Prizes given for the most sfnal ones we see!

*Atlantis Night*

Our main convention hotel in 2011 would be the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, a beautiful property with pools and lush lagoons scattered throughout the building and grounds. That just demands an undersea themed party, don’t you think? But we promise — no giant squid here.

No matter what nights you come, you’ll find us on the 22nd floor of the Sheraton Denver. You can also stop by our bid table in the Colorado Convention Center to say hi!
