The 97th Academy Awards were presented March 2 in Hollywood. Anora won five Oscars including Best Picture.
Films of genre interest were not shut out, but won only in the technical, craft, and animation categories where they customarily do well.
Taking home two Oscars apiece were Wicked (costume design and production design) and Dune: Part Two (sound and visual effects).
The Substance won for Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling.
Flow was named Best Animated Feature Film.

Nice to see Anora do well, though I was rooting for better results for the genre films and Conclave. Still, they can all add “Oscar winner” to their publicity. Sorry to see no recognition for A Complete Unknown.
