There will be a memorial held for Art Widner on June 22 at 1:00 p.m. in Gualala, California.

Art and I were pen pals for several years prior to his death. He kept me entertained and supplied with book titles and commentaries. We met in person several times; I live just off the I-5 corridor, and he would stop in on his way to the Seattle area to visit his family. On one occasion we met in Portland where I got to meet some of his Sci-Fi friends who were partying at one of the hotels. I miss him. He was one of a kind.
Art’s family organized a lovely memorial for him in Gualala. It was great to meet them and hear how close they were to him. There was also a good turnout of fans who made the 3 1/2 hour drive from the Bay Area to Gualala. There were a few tears and much laughter.
