  2. James Davis Nicoll, I think “it’s hard for a good man to be a killer”. (At first I thought “king”, but now I think “killer”.)

  4. He puts an extra-hard G on it due to his accent, so it sounds about halfway between “king” and “kink.”

    But it’s “king.”
