JJ was astonished by the reaction:

Neither of my cats have ever paid ANY attention to the TV. But awhile back I was watching The Sandman episode “A Dream of a Thousand Cats”. When this episode started, Ancillary Cat suddenly JUMPED off the couch next to me onto the coffee table and was riveted by the TV — for the entire episode. When the second half, “Calliope”, came on, she lost interest.

So I went back to the “Dream” episode, and she was again instantly mesmerized. I have never seen her do anything like this with anything on the TV. I guess it is a high compliment to the animators that it seemed so realistic to her.
