Firesign Theater’s Peter Bergman Dies

Peter Bergman, a founding member of Firesign Theatre and former Hugo nominee, died from complications of leukemia on March 9. He was 72.

Firesign Theater records nominated for the Hugo were Don’t Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers, in 1971 and I Think We’re All Bozos on this Bus, in 1972.

  1. @Spike: That’s an alarming symptom. I used to be able to quote lines from these albums, now I can’t even keep the titles straight.

  2. The Firesign Theater saved my sanity with Don’t Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers when I was in an impossible situation in Winter ’70-’71. I would get them on KAAY, 50,000 watts clear channel from Little Rock, Arkansas — I could only listen on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Nowadays KAAY’s programming would make me crazy.
