Renovation, the 2011 Worldcon, will increase its adult full attending membership rate from $140 to $160 on May 1.

Discounts for pre-supporters of the Reno in 2011 bid will expire on that date, too.

Remaining unchanged are the attending membership rates for children (0-16 years old) and young adults (17-21), as part of the convention’s policy to encourage families and children to come to the con.

Press Release 6 – Renovation Increases Attending Membership Rates,
Expires Pre-Supporter and Voter Discounts

On May 1, 2010, the following membership rate changes for Renovation,
the 2011 World Science Fiction Convention, will go into effect:

– Full adult attending membership rates will increase from $140 to $160.
– Discounts for pre-supporters of the Reno in 2011 bid will expire.

As part of the convention’s policy to encourage families and children
to attend Renovation, the following attending membership rates for
children (0-16 years old) and young adults (17-21) will remain
unchanged:

– Children (0-16 years old) at $75
– Young adults (17-21 years old) at $100.

These rates are based on the person’s age as of August 17, 2011.

The rate for a supporting membership will also stay unchanged at $50.
Friends of the Reno in 2011 bid can still benefit from a reduced
supporting to attending conversion rate of $70 as compared to the
standard $110 conversion rate.

Existing membership status can be determined online (unless the member has requested that his or her name be withheld from public listing) at www.renovationsf.org/memlist.php. Renovation memberships are available for immediate purchase at various conventions, at
www.renovationsf.org, and by postal mail. Memberships can also be
purchased by installment plan, allowing costs to be spread over the
next year while still locking in the lowest membership rate.

Adult Attending: New $160, Supporter Upgrade $110, Friend Upgrade $70
Young Adult (17-21) *: New $100, Supporter Upgrade $50, Friend Upgrade $10
Child (0-16) *: New $75, Supporter Upgrade $25.

* Young Adult and Child rates are based on age as of August 17, 2011.
Child rates include around 8 hours professional childcare for Children
aged 12 or under. Children aged 6 or under on August 17, 2011 may
alternatively be registered free of charge as Kids-in-Tow but with no
inclusive childcare.
