
The 2025 Tähtivaeltaja (“Star Rover”) Award finalists have been posted. The award, sponsored by the Helsinki Science Fiction Society, goes to the best science fiction book published in Finland in the previous year.
- Naomi Alderman: Tuleva (The Future, Translated into Finnish by Taina Helkamo, Gummerus)
- Chi Ta-Wei: Kalvot (膜, Translated into Finnish by Rauno Sainio, Hertta)
- Siiri Enoranta: Keuhkopuiden uni (Gummerus)
- Ursula K. Le Guin: Kompassiruusu (The Compass Rose, Translated into Finnish by Titia Schuurman, Moebius)
- Hannu Rajaniemi: Varjomi (Darkome, Translated into Finnish by Juha Ahokas, Gummerus)
The nominees were selected by a jury composed of journalist Hannu Blommila , editor-in-chief Toni Jerrman, critic Elli Leppä and Finnish translator and critic Kaisa Ranta .
The winner will be announced in April-May.

Somebody might be interested that the Taiwanese title means Membrane, and has been translated as The Membranes: A Novel (Columbia University Press, 2021).
