Burning Pardner


The Texas State Fair unexpectedly celebrated its own version of Burning Man on Friday when its icon “Big Tex” went up in flames. The giant figure with a 75-gallon hat and 50-pound belt buckle has been greeting fairgoers since 1952.

  1. I think they should make this an annual “Wickerman” thing at the end of the fair. Maybe even dipping the whole thing in batter first, to keep with the “every food we offer here is deep-fried” theme of the fair.
