Cats Sleep on SFF: Adventure Comics

Mike Penick sent in a sequel to the “Cats Sleep on SFF: The Zanzibar Cat” post of last November.

I am Mike Penick, the husband of Ron Maas who sent you the Zanzibar Cat photo.  This is Imra, named after Saturn Girl of the Legion of Super-Heroes with her head on a copy of Adventure Comics #364, January 1968.  It happens to be the first Legion comic I ever owned (not the same copy).  In addition to having an extensive comic book collection, I am also a longtime fan of prose science fiction and fantasy. Imra the cat is decidedly non-heroic, but is round in shape like LSH member Bouncing Boy.

Photos of your felines (or whatever you’ve got!) resting on genre works are welcome. Send to mikeglyer (at) cs (dot) com

  1. @Mike Penick: Hi and lovely cat-on-SFF photo!

Also, any comic with the Super-Pets is always awesome to see. 😉

  2. @Kendall. If you want super pets, DC recently published a collection called TAILS OF THE SUPER PETS which includes the story in Adventure Comics 364. And there is a super pets movie coming

  3. @Mike: Heh, great, thanks, I didn’t know about that collection. I’ll check it out, and also the movie; I’m not sure I’d heard of that. Trailer . . . oh boy, looks very over the top but looks fun. 🙂
